Izzy 9 months old ESS

We are looking for a very special home for the beautiful Izzy 💕

Izzy has come into our care after having her two front legs operated on to lengthen the ulnas. This has not hampered her in any way and for the most part is a typical 9 months old pup. However, as this would be classed as a pre-existing condition, most insurers won't cover her legs under a normal policy. We have had her back to the original surgeon that did the work, and he has said she will live as normal a life as possible, but her exercise levels will need to be closely monitored, with more on lead walks than off. We are looking for a home that can tire her out mentally rather than physically. She is good with other dogs, chases cats, is crate trained and her recall is quite good. She is still very bouncy so no kids under 10 and would benefit from a home where someone is about most of the time. She is not yet spayed so no unneutered males in the house. Happy to discuss the ins and outs of her procedure and ongoing care with any serious potential applicants.

If you think you could be the perfect home for Izzy, please fill in our application form on the website. A homecheck and donation fee will apply.

My grandad has just lost his springer spaniel kizzie at the age of 13. He’s had springer spaniels throughout the years all ending there live at around 13-14 his first one kizzie was 15. Very well looked after. He is looking for another even tho he’s at a fit old age. Keeps him going he says and loves a springer spaniel sort ov character clearly. Be lovely if you would consider him. I am also available if any help needed. I also have a springer spaniel. We love them. There character, live ov life, and loyalty. Great him waiting if considered x

You would need to fill in an application form Terri, but she is incredibly full on and is going to need a very patient and dedicated home!

If there is a younger child who is very dog savvy and used to a bouncey golden retriever and a jumpy cocker spaniel already - would this be acceptable? I know it says 10 plus but my son is so used to dogs he worships them.

No, the vet didn't want to do any more surgery as he didn't think it would help. Structured exercise and hydrotherapy were his recommendations.
