Temperament
Personality: Bert was initially very anxious when he came into foster, but this has settled now . He may still bark at newcomers to the house but then settles. Outside of the house he is much more outgoing and greets people he meets enthusiastically
General Personality: Bert has a lovely personality he is gentle and sweet. As stated he can get anxious in new situations but if let to adjust settles fairly quickly.
Energy Level: High when out but settles well in the house
Likes: Food!( Any food) walks, cuddles, loves kids
Dislikes / Fears: New situations

Training: Sits on command but responds well to food incentives
Recall: Fair to good.
Lead Walking: Pulls initially but then settles
Housetrained: Yes
Crate Trained: Goes in a crate whilst travelling, but not usually when in the house
Can Be Left: Yes but only for short periods and may bark. He is used to having someone around most of the time
Travelling: Very excited travelling but then settles in crate
Social Compatibility
With Other Dogs: He hasn’t previously lived with other dogs and hasn’t shown much interest in them on walks
With Cats: Not cat tested
With Children: Has lived with children previously, aged 3 and 9
With Livestock: Not tested
With Strangers: He may bark when visitors come into house but has been OK with people we have met out and about.

Exercise Needs: Typical cocker spaniel. Loves to run.1 – 2 hrs daily walk at the moment.
Ideal Home
Home Type: Bert is used to having someone about most of the time as family worked from home. He loves to be out and about so a home where there are lots of outside adventures for him to experience.
Experience: A family with previous cocker spaniel experience, although he is not as high maintenance as a working cocker.
Family: Can be rehomed with children 3+
Other Pets: Bert would prefer to be an only dog as that is what he is used to, somewhere where he has the family’s sole attention.
