Health & Vet History
Vaccinations: Due March 2027
Flea & Worm Treatment: Up to date
Medical Issues: Has an extra incisor tooth. Vet says it is fine to leave it as it’s not bothering him at all.
Medications: None
Temperament & Personality
General Personality: Rocco is a lovely little lad, he will run and run all day if he could. He is very settled in the house and loves nothing more than to curl up on your knee for a cuddle and a snooze. Likes to explore when out and about and loves chasing rabbits.
Energy Level: Very active
Likes: His human, food, exercise, the company of other dogs, running
Dislikes / Fears: Barks at unusual noises. Being left alone in the house.
Behaviour & Training
Recall: Work in progress. He will come back, he just likes to do it on his own terms. Better with a whistle
Lead Walking: Fine when he’s on his own, but will pull if he is out with another dog.
Housetrained: Mostly, he has been kept outside, so he found the not peeing anywhere he liked difficult, so there may be an accident or two settling in, but he’s generally good
Crate Trained: Is happy to be in a crate in the truck with his human there. Does not like being in a crate when you go out.
Can Be Left: He will need someone around most of the time, or someone that can take him with them when they go out. He will bark when left so it is advisable to keep that to a minimum.
Travelling: He loves being in the truck in a crate on the back seat where he can see you. He’s not keen on the big Trans K9 in the back where he can’t see you.
Social Compatibility
With Other Dogs: He’s currently in foster with 5 other dogs including his brother Buddy. He can be jealous of Buddy and will growl at him, and Buddy of him, over their human. It stops when you tell them, so if they were to be rehomed together then this is something that would need to be kept under control. Otherwise he would need to go with a confident female who could keep him in his place.
With Cats: No, he chases them and any other furry he can see.
With Children: He has been fine with them on his Pets at Home visits but he can try and snatch food if you’re not watching him, so kids 8+
With Livestock: Untested, but he likes to chase so I would be inclined to say no.
With Strangers: He barks at people coming into the house but is fine once he’s been fussed. He’s been brilliant meeting people at Pets at Home days, especially if they have a treat for him.
Spaniel-Specific Traits
Prey: Will chase anything and everything, rabbits and birds are his favourite. He’d have made a great flushing dog.
Scenting / Hunting: Would have been great as a working dog, he maybe too old now to be trained for actual hunting but he would love some kind of gundog training
Resource Guarding: No, becomes growly over his human but can safely take things away from him
Exercise Needs: Lots of it, he also needs mental stimulation as he’s a switched on boy
Ideal Home
Home Type: An active household who are out and about all the time, he loves to be outside, so somewhere with a safe secure garden would be ideal.
Experience: Experienced Cocker Spaniel owners
Family: Will fit in with most situations, kids need to be 8+
Other Pets: If he’s not rehomed with his brother Buddy, he will need a confident female dog in the family. No cats or small furries.

Good lord, Rocco is the spitting double of our female WCS who is of the same age. Shame he is only for children over 8. We have children 5, and 15 in the household
